Edward (Harvey) Louis Alexander, 74, of Camden passed away at home on April 5, 2024. Born in Dover, DE, he was the son of the late H. Marie (Harrington) and Irvan Fletcher Alexander.
Ed LOVED spending time with his family. His grandchildren meant the world to him! He had an infectious smile and thoroughly enjoyed cracking jokes with family and friends. You could often find him on Chincoteague Island, a home away from home that brought joy to his life, especially in the company of family and friends.
Ed took great pride in being a part of his community. He was an active member of the Harrington Moose Lodge and the Harrington American Legion. He was president of the Mt. Olive Cemetery for over 30 years and served as a trustee for the Cow Marsh Baptist Church Cemetery. Ed retired after 30 years from the State of Delaware working as the purchasing manager for the Department of Motor Vehicle. He enjoyed farming and had a passion for investing, especially when it came to real estate.
He is survived by his children: Rodney Alexander of Hockessin and Kimberly Alexander Gaines and her husband John of Camden; his brother Edwin “Peanut” Alexander and his wife Brenda of Camden; his sister-n-law Maria Alexander; his companion Susan K. Alexander of Dover; and his six grandchildren: Ethan Gaines, Olivia Gaines, Molly Alexander, Vanessa Gaines, Abby Alexander and Riley Alexander. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers William “Duke” Alexander, Charles Alexander and his sister Janice Alexander.
